Judicial Dispute Resolution
Civil and commercial disputes may be resolved through litigation in general jurisdiction courts or through arbitration (e.g., at the Arbitration Court of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry), especially when settlement through negotiation is not possible.
Litigation takes place in the Estonian state court system, which includes county courts, circuit courts, and the Supreme Court.
Arbitration is an alternative dispute resolution method in which the dispute is decided by independent arbitrators chosen by the parties. While arbitration can be faster and more flexible than litigation, it is often more expensive than proceedings in the general court system.
